About The Foundation
Our History

Lori and Paul Hogan founded Home Instead in 1994. Their experience caring for Paul’s grandmother was the inspiration that launched an international company of independently owned and operated franchises to provide in-home care for aging adults. Paul and Lori established the Home Instead Foundation in 2003 as a way to help care for aging adults in need of social service programs that help them age with independence and dignity and enhance their quality of life, as well as help the family members how care for them. In an effort to serve more seniors in Canada, the Home Instead Foundation of Canada was established and recognized as a registered charity in 2017 through the Canada Revenue Agency. The mission of the foundation is made possible, in part, thanks to Paul and Lori, generous sponsors and donations from the public.
